Catamaran (passengers only)
TP Line — line 9401, Zadar – Premuda – Silba – Olib
The quick way over. Roughly 80 minutes from Zadar, foot passengers and luggage only, no cars. Leave the car in the free car park by the quay in Zadar.

Car ferry (vehicles and passengers)
Jadrolinija — line 401, Zadar (Gaženica) – Premuda – Mali Lošinj
The only way to bring a vehicle. Slower, and the sailing to Premuda is usually once a day, but it runs all year and takes cars, campers, motorcycles and trailers.

Sailing schedules change, and bad weather cancels crossings. Always confirm with the operator before you travel. These pages are a guide, not a booking confirmation.
Times and fares are read once a day from the operators' own booking systems (TP Line and Jadrolinija) and cached on our server, so your browser never talks to them directly. Seat counts are different: they change by the minute, so they are fetched live from TP Line the moment you ask. Jadrolinija does not publish them at all.
Common questions
- Can I take a car to Premuda?
- Only on Jadrolinija's line 401 car ferry, from Zadar (Gaženica) or Mali Lošinj. The catamaran carries foot passengers only. Premuda is a small island with very little road, and many guests deliberately leave the car on the mainland.
- How long does the crossing take?
- The catamaran from Zadar takes about 1 h 20 min. The car ferry takes roughly 4 h 40 min from Zadar (it calls at several islands) or about 1 h 35 min from Mali Lošinj.
- Does the ferry run in winter?
- Yes, both do. The catamaran sails on almost every day of the year, though the departure time varies. The car ferry runs all year too, but on fewer days: outside high summer typically Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
- Do I need to book in advance?
- In July and August, yes, especially with a vehicle and especially for the return. Outside the peak weeks you can usually buy at the quay.
- Where do I park if I take the catamaran?
- There is a free long-stay car park a few minutes from the Zadar catamaran quay. The travel-cost calculator routes you to it directly.
